Hi all!
I'm Giulio, one of the founder of ReCycle cargo.
First of all, thanks a lot for your interest!
I have tried a bit to understand your discussion (good old Google Translate
), and I think I have captured the main doubts..
I'll try to give you some answers, unfortunately in English since I'm not that good with Deutsch:
1. The material of the tubes is ST37-3, hydraulic steel. With this material we can use a CNC bending machine, which enable us to avoid a lot of welds and preserve the strength of the tube. By using a thick wall (1.5mm), we were able to obtain a quite robust frame. This choice came after 3 years of use with lots of heavy loads of our test frame (the green one), which was made with 1.2 mm walls. We realized that it was a bit too "soft" and we therefore moved to 1.5 mm. At the moment our frame is undergoing test with daily usage from our local messenger company (Italian Bike Messenger - Modena), and the feedbacks are really positive so far. Their major positive comment (over a PedalPower bike which they already had) is that our bike is much more comfortable and absorbs shocks better. This is especially a plus on italian destroyed roads, and on cobblestones
2. Consider also that the normal bike tubes have variable cross section, being more thin in the middle and thicker close to the welds. We instead use the same thickness all along the tubes, which provides more stiffness.
3. We are able to ship with a special price to Germany, and also we are at the moment looking for a reseller. If you are interested in a test, please come back to us! We would really like if you can test our bike and give us some feedbacks!
Please if you have more questions don't hesitate to ask!
Giulio
