I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with your ordered Carqon. Just to get straight to the point: The door you have seen is not a pre-beta version. I do admit that we have had some big challenges with the door, especially since the material is extremely strong (and therefore super safe for transporting kids or goods) and therefore not easy to adjust afterwards. Besides, since tolerances are fairly large on the HDPE material, we had to make some informed decisions in order to make the door - combined with the box – adjustable in height (explains the gap on the bottom of the door).
Besides, due to flex in the frame of the bike (for a comfortable driving experience), there is always some (positive) deformation of the box when you take the bike from its kickstand. A SEAMLESS connection of the door to the box when the Carqon stands ON its kickstand could therefore potentially results in a slightly jamming door when the bicycle is on its wheels. Therefore, a small gap between door and box is desired when the bike is on its kickstand.
Finally, we changed the lock on the inside ánd outside. On the inside, we made the lock integrated in the door in order to prevent children’s feet bumping against the lock, and of course from an aesthetic point of view. On the outside we changed the lock because we are convinced that this new lock is more safe due to its longer pin which protrudes into the counter-part (Box).
Anyhow, I do admit that solely the pin (although it looks clean and it functions very well) looks incomplete.
Based on your feedback, plus other feedback we received about the look of this pin (lock), we will deliver on the short term a black, round attachment on this pin for more grip and a complete look. So, thank you for the feedback.
Regarding the rubber seal, we have tried several options, but none of them seemed hufter-proof enough yet. Of course we will continue to innovate, but it doesn’t feel well to promise a change on the short term if don’t have a reliable implementation schedule for that."

Daraufhin habe ich dann dem Händler mitgeteilt das ich die Übernahme endgültig verweigere, worauf er den Vertrag auch anstandslos storniert hat. Jetzt wird es sicherlich kein Carqon mehr werden.
Auf Bananenware deutet ja auch die „positive deformation“ hin.Sollte das Premium-Lastenrad etwa Bananenware sein, die beim Kunden reift?
