Welches Fett nimmt man dafür am besten? Irgendwo im Forum wurde mal was von 'nem roten Fett geschrieben, aber die Butter von Suntour ist nicht rot.

Darüber hab ich auch schon nachgedacht. Der zweite Gedanke war, dass, damit das Wasser wirklich nicht bei der Dichtung rum- und reinläuft, die Manschette eigentlich auch über das obere Ende der Tauchrohre gehen müsste. Geht aber wegen der Brücke nicht. Das Rad ist aber das ganze Jahr über draußen Wind und Wetter ausgesetzt, ohne Garage/Dach.Gummimanschetten und gut ist
Ich hab dann noch bisschen rumgesucht, und fand die Fork Socks beim Motocross cool, die ja rundum die Rohre mit einschließen. Möglicherweise könnte man mit TPU was 3D drucken was dann trotz Brücke umschließt, aber der Bohrer war dann erstmal die schnellste und einfachste Lösung für mich.
Bei der ollen Gabel hab ich da keine Wissenschaft drauß gemacht, Ansprechverhalten oder sowas ist ja wirklich nicht die Kategorie von Problem um dies hier geht. Die Standrohre laufen in Kuststoffbuchsen, daher hab ich ein Silikonfett rein geschmiert.

Ist zwar fester als dieses Suntour-Zeug, aber ich merke bei der Anwendung keinen Unterschied.
Oben sitzen die fest genug, da läuft eigentlich kein Wasser rein.
Ich habe meine zweite Gabel direkt damit ausgestattet, dieses sieht seitdem aus, wie neu. Einsatz bei jedem Wetter. 14 Euro.

Hab mir die Bälge jetzt auch einfach mal bestellt. Dazu für teuer Geld die Verschleißteile der Mobie A32 bei Suntour USA (mein Händler konnte die anscheinend nicht bestellen) und werde die Gabel noch mal aufarbeiten. Auch trotz Cargoca kann nen Ersatz nicht schaden.Oben sitzen die fest genug, da läuft eigentlich kein Wasser rein.

I've been lurking here for a while for inspiration and now I finally have my Load5 75 HS. I'm very happy with it, I can do about 80km at high speed with the dual battery.
The first thing I did was find a solution to carry a baby. I already had some equipment from the Thule chariot so I wanted to use that.
The baby sling is nice but you cannot take 3 kids. It also requires an adapter plate and some fiddling in the front. The adapter uses the existing holes of the box and is offset using some spacers to allow taking the sling off without the adapter:
The baby support can be easily added if you strap something around the head section to mount the headrest:
But the baby prefers the sling
My todo's:
- wait for RM to send my air shock absorber from the performance package (it's still in backorder..)
- add mudguard to the wheel lock
- change drivetrain (bigger chainring or narrower cassette), I ride mostly around 41km/h and the sprocket jumps from 11 to 13 teeth, not ideal.
- create a car roof carrier adapter before our holiday in summer (I've seen many implementations but I have a slightly different idea).

congrats on your Load5, which air shocks are coming with that performance package?
Regarding baby transport: why not buy the maxi cosi adapter? I don't know whether it's allowed to ride it in a HS version, but at least it's a lot safer than the infant sling. Which is btw also not approved for bike riding within the Thule - only pushing the chariot.
The shock would be a Suntour Mobie 80mm. It's on the RM website but I cannot find more info on it.

Transporting children under the age of 3 is not allowed, but of course I will be careful. The purion 200 has a 'limit' mode for 25km/h restrictions, the police should allow that, but of course insurance is another thing.

The shock will have 38 mm travel, same as the standard coil shock. 80 mm travel is the back wheel travel, shock has less due to leverage.

Eigentlich wollte ich ja mein altes Load verkaufen, nachdem ich Ende 2024 auf ein Load4 75 umgestiegen bin.
Und dann stieß ich noch mal auf diese Website.
Das SpaceCamper-Bike hatte ich schon auf der EuroBike gesehen. Joa, und dann fuhr ich im Januar 2025 nach Weiterstadt - und bin seitdem mit dem Camper unterwegs. Letztes Jahr eher punktuell, dieses Jahr soll's ein paar längere Touren geben, z.B. nach Kehl.
Das gute Stück ist nicht nur ein Hingucker - der Schlafkomfort ist ausgezeichnet.
Im eigenen Garten tut's auch gute Dienste als ausgelagertes Schlafzimmer.
